MEMOS, MAIL,ME.......

Well there HAS been progress since I last posted...I can just about see the light at the end of the tunnel...and it's been an awfully long tunnel!

The bedroom has been plastered and had an undercoat of paint

the ensuite shower room is fully tiled and 'just' waiting for the toilet, vanity unit and shower screen to be fitted..it actually looks better than this by today but the light isn't very good for a photograph!

My sanity is just about intact thanks to:

a)  a visit by one of 'the girls'.... we laughed, ate and drank our way through the week...I even sat in the sun (under a parasol) and read some books.....thanks Lyn!

I didn't read them ALL while Lyn was here, but after she left I was on a roll

....and b) a bit of a scrapping blitz once Lyn left. Sarah Jayne from LOTTIE LOVES PAPER has had sketch challenges on the LLP Facebook page this weekend, so I used them as inspiration;

While I was looking at the photos of my great nephew, I did this page too;

I have to say the mailbox has ben pretty uninspiring BUT a delivery arrived on Friday afternoon....the wardrobes and bed I had ordered from IKEA the day before ands told to expect Friday COMING ...now I have all this to add to the chaos which is our house at the moment;

I won't be posting next week....I will be in Rome(!) meeting up with Craig for a few days...I've never been before so am rather looking forward to it!

Hopefully by the time I post next, I will be back in my own bedroom and life will be returning to normal

Waving to SIAN and the other Monday Wavers....and wishing you all a great week!

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you

MEMOS, MAIL, ME

Another week gone by in my building site...but there IS progress! The tiler has been in this week and we have gone from THIS:

to THIS:

I am promised the tiling will be finished by Wednesday and then the 'hardware' can go in

Sanity just about prevails , thanks to my bit of scrapping:

I had quite a few photos taken over the course of last year's Fiesta so decided to try Pocket pages for a change

.......though there was no National Scrapbooking Day time for me, as I had had head up to Valencia for a 'quick' visit ( is there REALLY such a thing?!) to this perennial favourite:

The final decision has now been made re the built in wardrobes...and fingers are crossed for a delivery next week.

Unfortunately there was no mail this week...the book I had been expecting from AMAZON has been returned (due to the Carrier being unable to find our house -a very common problem unfortunately) so I shall re-order and request it is sent by 'normal' mail and not by carrier...a request I have made more than once.

Waving to SIAN and the 'MONDAYERS'....and hoping  you have had more luck/joy with mail this week!

Thanks for dropping by!
Take care of you

MEMOS, MAIL,ME

As I sit looking out at the building site which is my garden.....

....I am hoping that tomorrow will see a tiler and a plumber turn up to start their parts of the job at hand...today is of course a holiday (!) which means all has come to a standstill; though to be honest not a lot was achieved LAST week, apart from Craig and I going out and buying everything we needed for the ensuite. People came and went to look at what THEIR part of the job entailed, but they then disappeared off to other (obviously more-important-than-mine) jobs!!!!

Yes, the Cavalry (in the shape of Craig) rode-well flew- in for all of three days, in which time we made decisions, loaded the car with tiles, paint and other assorted necessities, borrowed a van to go back and collect the shower screen, vanity unit and shower tray...in between which said Cavalry Officer tried to come up with a working plan the builders might actually be able to..well, work to!!!!

Whilst waiting for said people to come and go and whilst my poor husband manned the phone and met with contractors, I snuck in  a bit of scrapping (just to keep my sanity you understand!)
 .....

Once left to my own devices again I went off for a bit of my favourite kind of retail therapy:

....then spent a couple of hours in the sunshine planting and pruning...so good for the soul!!

Saturday night saw a Mexican themed night in the village, so a few of us popped down to show our support...

Unfortunately the weather hadn't been great for the previous few days and the rain had only stopped that lunchtime ( and yes, we even needed jackets!), so it wasn't very well attended...the children enjoyed the donkey rides though!

As for mail....the highlight of the week was the delivery of this:

....now all I need is a Vanity Unit in an ensuite in a bedroom into which I can unpack it!!!!!!

Waving to SIAN and the Monday Wavers...hoping the sun is shining for you this Bank Holiday Monday, as it is here!

Thanks for dropping by!

MEMOS, MAIL, ME

Another week has flown past...most of it in a flurry of dust here!

You may remember that I mentioned we are having a bedroom and ensuite shower-room refurb and this week has been the demolition part of the process:

and I have spent my evenings resembling Cinderella on a bad day!!

I did however find time to help organise an Afternoon Tea in which 1000 euros was raised for our local Charity:

...and of course, now I'm home for a while it's time to get the garden up to scratch so this weekend saw a visit to a Garden Centre to buy this little lot:

I managed two scrapbook layouts;

I found the sketch on PAPER ISSUES

....and THIS sketch over at STUCK?!

As for mail?......the box of scrappy goodness I mentioned last week did indeed arrive:

MEMOS, MAIL AND ME....

Hello again blogland!

As I mentioned in last week's post I have been 'gallivanting', as my Gran would have said...to the North East of England this time, to visit my girl and her boys (one human and one of the four legged variety!)

The weather was sunny but cold for the first few days, but by the weekend if I had closed my eyes I could have been at home.....such a pleasant surprise!

We had an afternoon in Durham..and fitted in lunch AND Afternoon Tea:

I caught up with old friends and dog-sat the the four-legged boy:

There was some retail therapy and a visit to the Cinema to see this:

.....and loved it!

While I was away I read this book:

....finishing it on the plane on the way home.....a slow starter but a real tear jerker by the end (always embarrassing whilst sitting on a plane!)

By last night I was home and, as yet haven't had time to check my mailbox for any mail...I am hoping there is a notification to go and pick up a box of scrapping goodness!

Waving to SIAN and the other 'Monday-ers' and wishing everyone a good week

Thanks for dropping by!

MEMOS, MAIL, ME

I've missed it.....and you....so I'm dipping my toe in again ...to blogging I mean!

I'm making no promises- to myself or to anyone else - that it will be a regular occurrence, but I thought that I might start by joining re-joining SIAN and her 'Merry Mondayers' in the first instance.

So what's been happening in the slow lane this week?

I've managed a little bit of scrapbooking:

I'm sure I saw the sketch for this on FB but can't remember where

I happened upon this sketch on FB and used it as my starting point for this:

A little bit of reading:

I have made time to join a Reading Group and this was this month's (April's) choice....I quite enjoyed it even though it's not my favourite topic...the Cold War and espionage, but it examines the effects of wrongful accusation on a family (think The Railway Children written from the adult's perspective) therefore was more enjoyable than I had expected it to be.

Craig was here for a few days and we managed to get a few jobs done, had dinner out for our Wedding Anniversary ...and also had a day (well it SEEMED like an entire day!) looking at shower trays, tiles and vanity units for our shower room, which is just about to be re-decorated, along with our bedroom:

....and lastly the mail. It's been a Good Mail week:

a postcard from the lovely DEB, a Mother's Day card from Kirsty and an Anniversary card from our bridesmaid (the only other person apart from ourselves who ever remembers..thank you Morag!)

Have a good week and hopefully I'll be back next week...the coming week involves travel and catching up with Kirsty and with old friends for me...hope your week holds good things too!

Thanks for dropping by!
Takecare of you

Monday 10 October 2016

I KNOW, I KNOW....

....I said I wouldn't be blogging anymore....and I'm not really....this is a BLOGHOP post, following on from my recent weekend spent with a bunch of like-minded people at the RAU in Cirencester.

you may recognise some faces here

As always, it was lovely to meet up with old friends and to meet new ones!

As has become the norm, the lovely JULIE organised  PASS THE PAGE (the scrapbooking equivalent of Chinese Whispers) prior to the event and we all duly turned up with our pages...it's always amazing to see how the page differs by the end, but also to see what elements stayed the same all the way through.

To see the starting point go to the first page on the list (Julie's) and then go on to visit everyone else's blogs.

This is the page I made after receiving JACKY'S:

To find out what happened next, go to JEMMA'S blog...the full list of participants is below
